Made It Out
After feeling really bad this morning, I did manage to get out and run 7 miles. Now I'm on pace for 30 miles this week. Didn't go out till after noontime. The weather was nice and ran my pace. I'll try it again tomorrow.
Migraine Morning
Massive migraine headache this morning. Felt it come on when I woke up early this morning. I was hoping to sleep it off a bit more but that didn't work. Took some aspirin and ate some food. I'm feeling better but the headaches always wipe out my energy. I want to go out and run today. Took yesterday off from running. It is windy outside but the rain has stopped. It's supposed to be cooler temperatures today.

Can't Wait
I'm so looking forward to my trip to Amsterdam next week. The thing I'm paying attention to right now is the weather forecast. So far it looks like no major snow storms will be hitting the New York Metropolitan area when I leave on Monday. I'm still just outside of the 5 Day Forecast so things are not certain. Also, I have to keep an eye out for the weather in Amsterdam. The temperatures are more milder this week then they were last week. Same conditions here. I hope is works out and I can't wait to go.

Monday Snow
Just as I was getting into my 7-Mile training run, the snowflakes began to fall. There is a light coating on the ground. I'll be heading off to work at the hotel in a few hours.

Saturday January
This ends up being the last Saturday in January. Which means we are heading in February. The Winter is still very much upon us. Yet we move closer to the Spring and all frozen things will begin to thaw. I see the days get longer as the sun is shining. Live to run another day.

The Deep Freeze
Even with temperatures in the single digits today, I went out and ran 7 miles. It was important for me to do it. Once I got going it felt O.K. The sun is shining so that helps. These are the training days where I earn my points. I'm on pace to get 30 miles in for the week.

Brutal Cold
The cold blast has arrived and it is brutal outside. It's days like today when I want to live in a warm climate. If you've read any of my past Winter posts I sound like a broken record. It doesn't get any better as I get older. I want heat!

30 More Miles
Having done a 9-Mile run this morning, I did 30 miles of running for the week. That's the first time I've done that this year. I felt really good out there. I didn't do any running yesterday so the time off was beneficial. I plan on doing some artwork today. I'm diving into colors.

Low Energy
I did go out there and run 7 miles today. It was slow bones for me. I just don't feel like I have much energy right now. It's more like going through the motions. It would be good to get some rest in.

Not Much Sun
It's been pretty cloudy for the past few days. It was like that all weekend. The temperatures have been mild and most of the snow that was on the ground has melted. I hear we get a couple of more inches tonight. Let's see if the sun comes out today.

28 Miles
I've run 28 miles this week. That's 28 more miles than I ran last week. I feel like the flu is behind me. I really want to get out there and run tomorrow. that would push me past the 30-Mile mark. I've been adding weights to my workout program. Now all I need to do are the sit ups and side ups. Keep stretching.

Nice Day
The sun is out and the skies are blue. It is warm out today with the temperature in the low 50's. I'll take that for January in this part of the world. I went out and ran 7 miles this morning. On my way to at least a 30-Mile running week. I plan to do it all over again tomorrow.

Time Out
After running 2 days in a row I decided to not go out there and put miles under my feet. Today was a day for weights & stretching. I'll get out there and run tomorrow. I want to get at least 30 miles of running in by the end of the week. I'm on pace to do that. Having had the flu the week before, it's better to build up my energy. Back in training mode.

Running 2013
I went out and ran 7 miles today. I've done it 2 days in a row now. This will be a big year for my running experience. I might not run as many races as I did last year, but I plan on a strong training program. I did qualify for the New York City Marathon this year and I'll make a decision on what other races I might like to run. I also plan on cross training more than ever. Stretching, weights, cycling and running will be part of my plan. Keep in shape.
AFC Ajax
In 4 weeks I'll be in Amsterdam and one of things on my itinerary is going to see the soccer team AFC Ajax. They are the defending champions of the Eredivisie League in The Netherlands. I bought a ticket where my seat is just behind one of the goals. They play in a place called the Amsterdam ArenA. It holds about 50,000 people and has a retractable roof. Another thing I'm looking forward to doing over there.

To Work
I'm heading off to work at the hotel this morning. I feel like I'm getting better with my cold. Not as much mucus in my system and my throat wasn't bothering as badly as it has been last night. I did some weights yesterday so that's the first time I've done any exercising in a week. I do plan a run tomorrow. Off to work I go.

No Run
5 days into the new year and I still haven't run a step. I'm trying to get over this flu. It has been very stubborn. Makes me want to get a flu shot next year. I didn't to it because I had a bad reaction to one a few years ago. This cold has been brutal. I've lost weight which is a surprise to me because with no exercise this week, I thought I'd put on some. That's what happens when I'm sick. For the most part I feel better. But I do still have a sore throat and I've been coughing at night when I sleep. It is my hope to start running again on Monday. I want to run on the road to recovery.

Get Well Card
I still have a sore throat but I feel stronger today. I've been resting. Tonight will be an indication if I'm getting healthier. Hopefully I won't be coughing as much as I've been the last few nights.

New Years Day 2013
I spent the first day of the year working at the hotel. It wasn't very busy. It's just that people wanted late check outs. Fortunately it wasn't too occupied today so most of those rooms could be left vacant/dirty. This is what's known as SHOP TALK.
