May Night
It's the last night of May and I'm working at the hotel. I usually work on Friday nights. It's quiet right now. I'm glad of that. Lets hope it stays that way. I'm done in a couple of hours. Goodnight.

I'll try and make a run of it today. It is the last day of May and June will be here tomorrow. Just in time for the weekend.

Back To Amsterdam
I'm going to be taking another trip to Amsterdam in September. I was there back in February and had a great time. This will be my first Summer visit to the city. I plan to do plenty of bike riding. That's something I find tough to do over there in the Winter. It's too cold for me. The van Gogh museum was closed when I went due to renovations so that is a plan too. I was also reading about a photo exhibit based on David Bowie during the Glam years that would be fun to check out. The only thing going on that I'll miss is a 10-Mile race that is already sold out. That's O.K. there's lots for me to do.
Marathon Training Weather
It is getting hazy, hot & humid out there. The sun is up at 5 AM which means it marathon training weather. I look forward all Winter to this. With 2 marathons coming up in the next 5 months, it's time to get the training in. This weather reminds me of it.

Took A Break
After 2 days of running, weights & stretching, I took today off from all of it. My right arm was sore last night from all of the exercising I was doing. I've never none the weights like I have over the past week. It was time to recover. My hope for tomorrow is that I'll go for a run before I go to work in the morning. That will mean being out before the sunrise. It's that time of year.

Tuesday's News
I ran for the 2nd time in a row today. Keeping to the schedule. Played the entire rock opera THE FRONT DESK this afternoon along with a few other jams. No sun like yesterday. It's rainy out there and it feels later that it actually is. I like a full day.

The Week
I just went out and did what I call my Sunday Run. It's the route I usually take on Sunday when I'm doing a training run. Today is Memorial Day in The States so from a traffic standpoint it's much like a weekend day. The weather is nice and it's supposed to get warmer as the week goes on. My plan is to get a long training run in by the end of the week. That's good.

My Weekend
Now that my long weekend shifts at the hotel are over, it's time for me to get ready for a couple of days off. I'll do some drawing tonight, run tomorrow morning and see where it all leads. Where's my pencil
Back At It
I left work at 9 PM and now returning at 7 AM. It is a quick turnaround and I feel it since I didn't sleep all too well last night. These are 10-hour shifts at the hotel. I'm off for a couple of days after today. Time to make the donuts.

Almost Done
I'm at the front desk of the hotel right now. I have an hour to go on my shift. It's gone pretty fast tonight. I'll be here tomorrow. Goodnight.
Big Weekend
It will be a night at the hotel. It starts a 5 night run. This will be the biggest weekend in terms of revenue. Special Reservations are set for this weekend because 3 local colleges are having graduations. That means being busy and putting in long hours this weekend. It's gig time.

This & That
I was able to do some fun things today. I jumped rope and went to 103 revolutions without stopping. That's a record! Spent some time mowing the lawn. It was overcast so the conditions were nice. Did a little drawing too. And I've been practicing an old song called SHAVING CREAM. I used to sing it as a kid. I put a bass part to it and it would be fun to play out live. We'll see.

Broken Record
Over the last few posts, I've established the fact that I have a cold. It makes me glad I don't have to go to work today. Even thought I have work around the house, at least I can go at my own pace. I just feel like it puts everything on hold. And for those of you who might not understand the term BROKEN RECORD means it was a term used back in the old days when the needle of a phonograph would play the same part of a song on the vinyl because it was scratched. Very 20th Century of me.

Under The Bad Weather
This cold I've had is pretty bad right now. My throat is sore and nose is stuffy. As if I didn't need any reason not to run this morning, the weather outside is rainy. Since I'm working later today, I'll go easy and rest. Time for more rest.

Marathon Training
I'm 3 months away from running my first marathon of the year and now the training is underway. As the weeks go on, I will start to increase my distance running. This race I run in August is really important to me so it's my hope to be in the best possible shape I can. Today wasn't easy since I feel like I have a cold. It was good to get out there and run.
Spring Cold
I do have a head cold. This illness came on the night before when I felt real tired after work. Then my lower back ached when I was trying to sleep. Now it's moved to my head where my throat is sore and my nose is stuffy. It may be warmer outside but I have a cold.

It's the start of a new work week for me and I'll have plenty to do at the hotel. After today it will be the evening shift. The weather is suppose to get warmer this weekend and I'm starting to increase my distance with my training runs. The usual stuff.

My Day Off
I'm off from work today and I don't have to go anywhere. I did plenty of walking on the island of Manhattan yesterday. From Harlem to The Battery. I would like to move there. My visit was more of a fact finding mission. Today my job is art. I want to draw some pictures.

Hey Slow Bones
My run this morning wasn't easy. I felt tired. It was important to me that I get a run in today since I won't get the chance to do it tomorrow. The best thing was that I took a nap and so I feel rested up for work tonight. I'll try to give a Front Desk ulpdate later.
My Own Friday
This will be the 6th day in a row that I've worked at the hotel. It's a bit like Friday to me. Tomorrow I go to New York City. I have plenty of work to do there too. The weather is supposed to be real nice. I'm glad for that.

Cloudy Sunday
I need to go out there and run today. I didn't feel good yesterday so I rested. My night at work for the most part was quiet. However, the first 2 hours were busy checking people in at the hotel. It's Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Saturday Night
Remember the Bay City Rollers? They had a song called SATURDAY NIGHT. Big night out for some. Tonight I'm working at the hotel. It's quiet right now. We have a couple of wedding parties who are out of the building. Usually by the end of my shift, they start staggering in. It was busy at the Front Desk for the first 2 hours. I'll see if I leave before they arrive back. S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!!!
The Rest
There's no way I'm going for a run this morning. I feel tired and rest is the best order since I'm working at the hotel tonight. If I do anything, it will be stretching & weights. It's overcast outside and the rain is holding off. I just want to rest.

Racing The Rain
I was racing the rain this morning. It never rained the entire time I ran. The rain started about 15 minutes after my run. I have a 6 night stand at the hotel this week and tonight is #2. It might as well be my Monday. These are sold out shows so it will be busy. Who's gonna rock the lobby?

Pencil & Eraser
They are a couple of old friends of mine. Ever since I was a kid, I've known Pencil and Eraser. It's amazing after all these years I now realize they can blend together. That's what happens when you do more drawing.
Golf
Late yesterday afternoon I did some golfing. It was fun! I was practicing my swing with the pitching wedge. It's amazing how the shot goes. I felt a great deal of power. I'm trying to balance it all with accuracy. I'll keep swinging away.

Luxury
I would like to get a job at a luxury hotel because some of the hotels I've worked at have all the subtleties of being behind the counter of a fast food establishment.
Thursday Workout
Yesterday was a good workout day. I ran 7 miles and did a good amount of stretching & weights. Today I would like to go out and run 7 more miles. I'll be using an old pair of sneakers since the pair I had been using are all worn out. My body feels a bit worn out today from the training yesterday.
