Tonight I read my rock opera THE FRONT DESK at McGeary's in Albany, New York. It's the first time I've ever done it in spoken word form. I'm ready to go.

Auto Pilot

It's Saturday and I work today. Just doing my thing. Steady as she goes. 

The Colonie Mile

On Tuesday the local running club has a race called The Colonie Mile. It would be the shortest race I'd run all year. If the weather is good, then I'll run it. 

Noon

I go to work at noontime. The hotel was booked last night. I'm sure it will be busy today. 

Epic Day

This day started after midnight when I left my job and drove downstate. Then I woke up in the morning and headed to my former hotel to get written references. Then I went to the job interview and it lasted about a half hour. I then drove to New Jersey spend the day with Grace. Epic day for me

Right To It

The Sun is rising and I have a busy day. It would be in my best interest to get out there and run. I go to work this afternoon and then I'll drive downstate. More hotel related work tomorrow. I'm trying to get things set up for that. It's been a bit stressful. Just when I think the best laid plans are set, there ends up being another glitch. I have to keep at it.

Very Busy

I go to work in 30 minutes. I work the evening shift tomorrow then drive downstate. Plenty of things to do.

So Many Things

I have a bunch of things going on right now. I've been proactive about things. Right now I have to chill out on a hot day. That's the plan.

Marathon training

I did a 2-hour training run. That's a half marathon distance. It's time to go long distance training for the marathons. My schedule change was doing this run so early in the week. This is the only way I can make it work. 

T.G.I.S

I work today and then I'm off tomorrow & Tuesday. My crazy schedule. I'll hang out for the morning.

I'm 51

It's just pass midnight and my birthday is over I'm 51-years-old. My birthday was spent working at the hotel. That's O.K. It's how I spent my birthday last year.

Grand Prix Points

I know I scored some Grand Prix points from my race yesterday. I finished 4th in my age group. I'm pretty proud of that.

Monday Daze

I go to work at the hotel this afternoon. No run for me this morning after the race yesterday. A day off from training altogether. 

Pat Bass Troubadour

I ran through my rock opera THE FRONT DESK today. 
Played it troubadour style. 
Hadn't done that in a bit. 

Club Race

This morning I ran an 8-Mile race and finished with a time of 1:01:40. I was hoping to finish under an hour. I'll take the 61 minutes instead. Just couldn't maintain the speed pace I wanted. I knew I was in trouble when at the halfway point, I was just over the half hour time. Tough for me to run a quicker second half of a race. I'll use it as motivation for marathon training. That goes on.

Run & Work

Went out and ran 4 miles as a tune up for the 8 miles of racing I'm doing tomorrow. Tonight I work at the hotel. Still feels like Summer out there.

First 2014 Race

Tomorrow I plan to run in the Distinguished Service 8-Mile Race in Albany, New York. My over/under finishing time is 1 hour. This will be the first race I've run all year. The weather looks good and I feel ready. I haven't run this particular race in many years. I'll do a training run today. Summer is on it's way.

Back To Work

My work week starts today. I go in later this afternoon. Next week, I'm heading downstate for a family visit. Looking forward to that. 

After Further Review

I did go out there and run 8 miles. That makes me feel better. 

Thursday World

Cloudy out there. Didn't go for a run today. Feel tired. I have a work meeting at 3 o'clock. Otherwise the day is free. 

My Day On

Not working at the hotel this morning. I'll be going over to mike's to do recordings later. I will go out and do a shop too. Busy with things as always. 

Busy Busy

Busy past few days. I work tonight and then I'm off for the next two days. Keep on working. 

The Night Audit

I don't usually write about the details of my work in the hotel industry. No need for me to put it out there. Especially in this industry where confidentiality is the key. The thing that always happens to me in every hotel I've ever been to is that the power that be will get around to having me learn Night Audit. It's another way of saying, "You're working the overnight shift." I can never get ajusted to that schedule and it always ends with me leaving for another job. I won't do it anymore. They always go too far with me on that score. I like to be a team player but the game is over if I feel like I just can't do it. I'll never change that way. Later Night Audit. 

Double Sunday

Just got finished working at the hotel. Then I'll go Back later tonight and do the audit. Plenty of work in a short amount of time.
